Congratulations to YSI! We are going to celebrate our 50th anniversary this July and it is due to all the good people throughout the years that have continued to fulfill what is in my mind “The Greatest Mission in the Yakima Valley”. Through good times and bad, the YSI spirit has persevered, and is now shining as bright as ever. Thanks to the loyal commitment of a pure volunteer board of directors, a rock solid staff and a core of hard working dedicated employees, YSI has been a profound model and true testament of what one man’s vision fifty years ago has proved, that people of all abilities can work together side by side and produce not only a tangible product or service, but a solution that empowers us all to achieve to the best of our abilities. So, I say to you Jim Albers, Founder of Yakima Specialties and its first Executive Director, good work Sir! I can only strive to carry on the noble mission you shaped so ong ago and can say that all of us here at YSI and the community of Yakima are deeply grateful for the gem you created on a most likely very warm July day some fifty yeas ago this month.
